So let's say you are on the Lido deck working on your suntan while your friends go to a trivia contest. This allows passengers to instantly connect, as well as compare notes on ship activities. The feature works like any messaging app you're already using and proved to be very easy to pick up, even for the most tech-challenged among us. The Carnival Hub app is free to download and use on your cruise ship’s free WiFi. You’ll only pay for extra, in-app purchases, such as food delivery, photo orders or group chat usage.
It’s Time to Check In – Woohoo!
You’ll find them all listed under “Packages and Deals”. Once you have successfully downloaded the app to your smartphone, you should see a new App Icon that looks like this. I can even set reminders for events and my phone will let me know, so I don’t miss the start of that headliner show. You need to log out of your HUB app then you can log in with a new booking number. I have been on Royal and Princess cruises and weeks before the departure of cruise they would start to post the itineraries and menus. Agreed, I wish they made the menus, Fun Times, etc available a week before your cruise.

This is where you’ll find them on ships that are digital-photo–enabled. This is where you will see all your saved activities and any shore excursions you have booked. I get into the habit of checking my phone regularly if we were cruising with friends and we were all using the chat facility.
Shore Excursions
The app’s functions expand once you’re actually on your cruise, to include more capabilities, but, ahead of time, you have everything you need to start planning your dream cruise itinerary. What’s Happening will list everything that’s happening on board the ship. Your favorite Cruise Director spends a huge amount of time preparing daily activities and entertainment.
What’s Happening?
It comes as the Miami-based cruise line is about to restart cruise operations with new protocols in place to keep guests safe. In our opinion, Carnival Hub is extremely useful for anyone taking a cruise aboard Carnival. In fact, with the menus and planner, it’s practically a necessity. Since it’s free (except for $5 if you want to use the chat function), there’s no reason not to download the app. You can download here for iPhone or here for Android. Carnival HUB is designed to be an all-in-one service that gives you everything you need to know about your cruise all in the palm of your hand.

The Carnival Breeze has been the testing grounds for the technology, with plans to roll out to five additional ships by year's end and fleetwide by summer 2016. Carnival Cruise Line has heavily pushed the importance of the app moving forward to keep guests protected during the voyage. The new updates will be rolling out in the coming months and can be downloaded in the Apple Store and Google Play Store. The Carnival HUB app is available for use on Carnival ships for both Apple and Android phones.

At least last time, they had a "social" aspect to the app, in that people could upload photos during the cruise. It was curated, but still was neat to see others experiences perhaps on an excursion or something. HUB offers onboard conveniences and connectivity without creating a sense that you're far from unplugged on your vacation. How about a way to message your steward about needed items for your cabin, or to ping the maintenance team directly via the app or leave instant feedback when you get outstanding service.
Youth and Family
From maps of the ship to daily schedules of activities to a chat function — allowing you to stay in touch with other passengers — the app has you covered. Find all of your ship’s dining options in one place. Learn more about restaurants, foodie events and find menus for each option on board.
If I lost my way on board, I would need to find an elevator area to see the Ship’s layout to figure out what deck I needed to be on next. Funtimes is a great resource, but you need to carry it around with you, and sometimes finding specific information isn’t that easy. Closer to the date of your cruise you will also be able to use it to complete check-in.
We’re listing all the must-know things to understand about the app before you board the ship — no matter which of Carnival’s fun vessels you hop aboard for your next vacation. The “Carnival Funtimes” is a daily information sheet that is delivered to every cabin (on request). It gives you all the news and information required to plan your day on the cruise or your port visit. Firstly, you can use the app to help you get organized before your cruise. You can pre-order shore excursions and onboard services such as Drink Packages and Spa Treatments. I was just playing around with it because i couldn’t figure out if we all booked specialty dining how can we go together.
Now, you can reserve your seats virtually from the app, and check in to virtual queues as well. Don’t make your way to your favorite cruise ship restaurant, only to find it closed when you arrive. Check all of the ship’s open and close times via the app.
What’s amazing is that everything is included on the list, and it’s updated each day as schedules change due to port days. Want to hit up the nearest bar or grab a bite to eat? This section of the app tells you what’s open and more information about the restaurant. By the second or third day you will have a good idea of what’s available, but it’s extremely valuable when you first get on the ship and aren’t sure where to go to grab lunch or a fruity cocktail.
