On Sunday night, they called an ambulance to take me to an ER. I was hospitalized for 7 days and the whole time, my Dr. kept muttering "this shouldn't have happened". She made it clear that my hospitalization could have been avoided had the staff been "on top of it". When I was released, I went to a different facility, which was equally depressing but had a strong PT program. Learning recently of the scandal surrounding Isabella connected with their failure to disclose how many had died there of covid19, I wasn't the least surprised.

I was able to visit a friend of mine at Isabella Geriatric Care. When I visited one time they have a program going on like music and therapy. She is in a shared room, and the residents are not spending a lot in their room.

Other badges such as the Nazi swastika, symbolize the evil ideas beyond human understanding, appearing from a void in human history. Understanding our past, its stories, and its symbols can be an opportunity to think about our existence and the meaning of life. We certainly can learn a lot from Shoah survivors who went through extreme life situations and are now sharing their stories with the larger community. Hagibor is proud to be part of this interaction when the personal stories of survivors can help others to understand the real history.

We were going to get my father a one room with a balcony. Other assisted living facilities don't have balconies. It has a very large balcony, and it has a very large separate kitchen with four or five very large closets, so the space is very accommodating. Where appropriate, residents may wear a “Watchmate” which provides immediate notice to staff if the wearer wanders into an unexpected or unprotected area. Staff accompanies the resident back to safety. There are no locked resident floors at Isabella. Security measures are in place at all times.
